Suburban Vancouver kitchen turned into modern kitchen with glass and steel
This young couple hired me to completely transform their entire home from a standard suburban home to one filled with modern and contemporary touches. The golden oak cabinetry, white appliances and granite-tile countertops are reminescent of homes built between the late 1980s to the late 1990s. While the layout and function of the kitchen was fine, my clients wanted a simpler, cleaner, more modern aesthetic. Instead of completely ripping out all the cabinets, we refaced the lower cabinets in a dark oak and rebuilt just the upper cabinets, allow us to increase the amount of storage add the glass accents.
By combining dark oak cabinetry, glass, stainless steel, slab granite and a contemporary stone/stainless steel backsplash in the correct proportions, we created a functional kitchen with strong modern appeal.
